ABOUT

The father and son hunt, and wilderness experience is aimed to expose and educate young men to our hunting heritage and basic wilderness skills and bushcraft.

This experience will take place of a weekend with two full nights and days experiencing the bush way of life and learning great skills.

The weekend will consist of small groups not exceeding 5 dads with their sons to ensure that each participant gets the maximum out of the weekend without pressure and feeling rushed.

Topics that will be covered will include but not be limited to the following:

Camping basics, tent location and set up, fire making using a flint and fire safety, water sourcing and purification;

Hunting ethics, shooting basics and range time shooting, shot placement on small game animals, the art of walk and stalk, tracking basics, skinning basics and the optional opportunity to hunt a small game animal with the assistance of a hunting guide;

Basic navigation in the bush using natural features.

Basic wilderness first aid to stop bleeding.

Included in the experience:

tent to use per father and son

all meals (breakfast, lunch, supper), coffee/tea/hot chocolate

accommodation costs

Use of .22 rifles at range and rifle hire .243 available in the event someone does not own a suitable rifle for the sons;

shooting platforms (shooting sticks and exbags)

Hunting vehicle

wild at heart branded cap and shirt

magnesium flint fire starter for each son

Excluded in the experience

any game animal hunted by the father or son (Price list will be provided)
